Snails naturally bred for gastronomic and cosmetic-pharmaceutical uses.
The idea that gave life toSnails breeding "The land of snails" born of two young boys of Silvano d'Orba, Alexandria. Luca collects the inheritance of a family of farmers and is an expert in the field, Riccardo is a graduate of Landscape architecture and engages in the design of the green. The synergy between these two training backgrounds and baggage of experiences and skills has given life in a few months tobreeding, in which tradition and innovation come together to guarantee a product that stands out for its quality and total respect for its products snails bred.
The goal ofSnails breeding "La Terra delle Chiocciole" is to provide high quality products, to be used both in the gastronomic field and in the cosmetic-pharmaceutical sector, raising the snails with natural methods and in full respect of them. Natural methods are the main strengths of the company. Among these, first of all, its position that enjoys the type of soil, naturally humid all year round.
L'breeding "The land of snails"is located in Alessandria, in Silvano d'Orba, in the locality of Bacchetti, in a valley surrounded by groves and vineyards. In these places, the snails they live and proliferate naturally favored by the type of soil and constant humidity throughout the year. The snails bred here belong to the Helix Aspersa, more commonly called Vignaiola. The breeding method used is called Madonita, from the Sicilian farm that provided the materials and the first snails. THE'breeding it consists in about half a hectare of land (a medium-small surface) cultivated with a salad, in which we insert the snails. The ecological impact is minimal because it is the equivalent of a field planted with vegetables. Almost all operations are performed manually.
Le Snails grown in"La Terra delle Chiocciole" breeding they are particularly suitable for use in the cosmetic, pharmaceutical and gastronomic fields. A part of them is taken to a certified laboratory that produces sauces which are then sent back to the company as a finished and stored product. The snails they are also used for the extraction of the burr: a manual mechanical process which consists in inserting the snails into receptacles with the addition of a little water. Here the snails, which are simply moved manually, to 'defend' produce the burr that will then be filtered. The collected burr is then sent to a certified cosmetic laboratory that produces creams and whey, products unanimously considered excellent for skin care. The snails produced here are naturally also suitable for gastronomic use and are available both live and preserved.
